Actor Willie Aames, star of ’70’s and ’80’s television shows Eight is Enough and Charles in Charge, is being divorced by his wife of 22 years, Maylo Upton. Aames (real name: Albert W. Upton) was most recently seen on VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club but hasn’t worked since.
Star Magazine is now reporting that Aames attempted suicide in Los Angeles on Thanksgiving Day. He apparently mixed alcohol with anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds then put a knife to his throat and cut himself in six places. Police came and took him to USC’s psych ward.
Someone at Star might want to tell Mrs. Upton where they tracked Aames down. She filed for divorce in Johnson County, Kansas – just outside of Kansas City – in December and advised the court that she did not know Aames’ whereabouts and 
hasn’t known since October. Most recently, the court authorized Upton’s divorce attorney to serve Aames with notice by publication – usually the last option for obtaining legal service on someone who has abandoned a marriage and disappeared.
Aames filed for bankruptcy earlier in the fall and had his car repossessed. Aames and Upton’s marital home is currently in the process of being foreclosed upon. Upton asked the court to waive the filing fee usually charged for filing a divorce petition due to her current financial status.
The couple has one daughter who is 18 years old.

I am a pastor’s wife. My husband and I were saved in 1991 at the age of 27. We had a very hard past as well. My heart breaks for both Willie and Maylo. Their families let them down, Hollywood did them dity, and then when they finally found the Lord and began to serve Him, Believers jumped at every oppurtunity to judge them and even use them.
I have no idea what denomination they belong to, but it is my prayer that Willie and Maylo will stay in the Word of God. Letting it speak to and heal their hearts. I pray Willie will put all the pain, depression and fear at the feet of Jesus. Letting Him rebuild the broken pieces.
It is obvious that Maylo loves him very much and it may just be that God has taken them apart in order to put them back together the right way.

I am a distant relative of Willie’s. Our family has just recently realized that we are cousins. It is my prayer that Willie will somehow get this message. “Willie, you have a large extended family that stretches across the Unites States and we are all praying for you”. You said in a video you taped for House of Prayer that God gave you a message when you became a Christian that “There will be people to lift you up along the way”. We are hear for you Willie and doing just that…YOU ARE LOVED. Be encouraged and know that God is in control.
Willie, I am sorry for your hardships. As my brother in Christ I know your service for the LORD is a threat to satan. Your Bibleman movies have helped our children as well as many others (currently) to learn/ grow in the LORD. I pray right now that our LORD JESUS CHRIST lifts you up and heals you in JESUS’ name! Willie (Albert)I don’t know whether you will get this email or previous emails written to you by others. So I send this up as a prayer on your behalf. I pray that you will set your mind on things above not on things that are on the earth (Col3:2) Know that you do not have to grieve anymore. Jesus has borne all your griefs, sicknesses and all you weakness and distresses. He has carried ALL your sorrows and pains. HE was wounded for your transgressions, brused for your guilt and iniquities. He suffered on your behalf and because of all that HE has done for you….YOU Albert (Willie Aames) can be healed and made whole. I declare this in Jesus name on your behalf that you will have all that Jesus has for you according to His Word(Isaiah 53:4-5). I speak to all the mountains of disappointment in your life, the hardships, difficulties and addiction of any kind and I lift those things up and throw them into the sea. May your heart be filled with hope and along with hope, faith to believe that you receive all that Jesus has for you according to His Word (Mark 11:22-24) I pray that according to Matt 8:16-17 that you will receive restoration in your health, your mind (wherever restoration is needed). I pray that you will truly know that the gifts and callings of God cannot be taken away….no matter what.
