Next Up for David Spade? A Paternity Suit. 0

About: Entertainers

David & JillianActor/comedian David Spade and Playboy’s Miss March 2005 Jillian Grace became parents last week.  Grace apparently gave birth to a baby girl in Missouri on August 26.  Spade’s spokesperson confirmed the birth and acknowledged Spade’s paternity in a statement yesterday.

Back in January, Spade admitted to a brief relationship with Grace and noted that, if he was the father of her child, he would take responsibility.  Presumably, between then and now, Spade has been somehow convinced of his paternity.  There is no indication if there was a pre-natal or post-natal DNA test performed.

“David and Jillian have been in close contact throughout her pregnancy and he plans to go see the baby during his first break from shooting Rules of Engagement,” Spade’s rep, Meredith O’Sullivan, told People magazine.

If Grace intends to seek a child support order or if Spade intends to seek a custody and visitation order, a paternity suit must be filed in the appropriate court.  If they are able to come to an agreement regarding child support and custody/visitation, the suit will be a mere formality for the purposes of getting the court’s approval for the agreement.
