Rapper T.I. Wins Child Support Fight 0

Rapper & KidsClifford Harris — better known as rapper T.I. — was pursued in court by ex-girlfriend Lashon Dixon for modification of their child support order. The former couple are parents to 8-year-old son, Messiah Ya’Majesty and 7-year-old son,  Domani Uriah.  T.I., who won a Grammy Award for collaborating with Justin Timberlake, previously paid $2,000 per month in child support for the two boys.  Dixon claimed in court that this amount was no longer sufficient to provide for the children’s expenses.

T.I. reported that, in addition to the monthly child support payment, he also pays for the boys’ private schooling and health care among other expenses.  He further claims that he gave Dixon money for a down payment on a home and for transportation.

Today, an Atlanta judge modified the child support order and now requires T.I. to pay $3,000 per month in child support.  TMZ.com reported that Dixon was looking for a figure closer to $10,000 a month.  She is not employed.  T.I. is still obligated to pay for private school, medical bills, and extracurricular expenses.  The court also granted the parties joint legal custody of the children.  Dixon has primary physical custody.

In addition to Messiah and Domani, T.I. is also father to Clifford “King” Joseph III, 4, and Major Philant, 4 months, with his fiancée Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle.  He also has a daughter, Deyjah, from a previous relationship.
