Linda Hogan Accuse Hulk of Hiding Assets 0

Hulh & Linda HoganThe Hulk HoganLinda Hogan divorce case heated up this week in Pinellas County, Florida. This one has been nasty since the get-go with Hulk (né Terry Bollea) cheating with a 30-something year old friend of his daughter. Linda is now dating a 20 year old schoolmate of her children. And then there’s the whole saga of their son Nick Bollea, recently released from jail after putting his best friend into a persistent vegetative state following a drag-racing accident. The accident occurred in late August 2007. The divorce was filed in November 2007. (Remember those dates…).

Anyway, back to the recent divorce developments. Linda’s attorneys filed a Second Amended Petition for Dissolution on Monday. She also added a request for relief from fraudulent transfers of marital property. Linda alleges that, between September 2007 and May 2008, Hulk and his business partner Eric Bischoff formed eight different Florida and Nevada companies. Hulk is shown as 98% or 99% owner of most of these companies, with Bischoff owning 1% or 2%. Linda claims that substantial marital property was transferred into these companies.

For example, long-established trademarks such as Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Hulkster and Hulkamania were transferred to one of the Nevada corporations. Another corporation was formed to own all of the Bollea family’s vehicles, motorcycles and jet skis (all previously in Hulk’s name). Several other newly-formed corporations appear to have licensing or sub-licensing rights to market products under the Nevada corporation’s trademarks.

Whether or not all of this legal wrangling and filing of corporate documents was intended to deceive Linda and hide assets from the divorce court is yet to be seen. Certainly, Linda has a marital interest in any corporations owned by Hulk. The question may be whether marital assets are now owned in part by Bischoff and whether Hulk received any money in return for giving Bischoff a piece of the action. If he did not and essentially gave away marital assets, Hulk will have to account to Linda for those assets in any property distribution.

I told you to remember the dates above. I’m not convinced that these corporations were formed to keep money from Linda. I tend to think that these corporations were a weak attempt at keeping the family of Nick Bollea’s passenger from collecting anything from the Bollea family if they were to win a large judgment in court.

So, the Hogan divorce drags on. It’s bound to get more juicy. So, stay tuned!
