Slavica Ecclestone has confirmed that she and Formula 1 racing boss Bernie Ecclestone have separated and are divorcing. While not exactly a household name in the United States, Bernie Ecclestone is one of the richest men in Great Britain and has an extremely high profile as head of the popular European car racing circuit.

The Ecclestones have been married for 24 years. Due to the length of their union, it is expected that Slavica would be awarded half of the couple’s £2.4 billion (over $3 billion) fortune in the property distribution. This split will easily be the most expensive divorce in history – topping even the $1.7 billion divorce of media mogul Rupert Murdoch and first wife Anna Murdoch.

The couple, who reside primarily in London, has two daughters, 24 year old Tamara and 19 year old Petra.
