Oksana Grigorieva Hires Big Gun Family Law Attorney 3

Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva retained big-name Hollywood divorce attorney Sorrell Trope to replace her existing family law attorneys today. Trope has previously represented many high-profile celebrities including Anna Nicole Smith and Britney Spears. Grigorieva was previously represented by Marci Levine – whose former clients include celebs like David Hasselhoff.

Tabloids reported that Grigorieva met with Trope and had an appointment to meet with another A-list L.A. family law attorney Neal Hersh. She apparently canceled the meeting with Hersh after hiring Trope. Hersh clients include Pamela Anderson, Denise Richards and Melissa Etheridge.

Gibson is represented in the pending custody and child support case by Stephen Kolodny. Kolodny has represented movie producer Jon Peters and Lisa Bonder Kerkorian in her child support and paternity case against billionaire Kirk Kerkorian.

Sources indicated that Grigorieva was frustrated that her current legal team has not been able to get the judge to increase the $5,000 a month in the child support for their baby daughter Grigorieva agreed to in a temporary settlement with Gibson in May. She has since disavowed the agreement. Her current lawyers have requested child support of $40,000 a month. The judge has not yet ruled on that request.

In addition to the $5,000 child support payment, Gibson also pays for the Sherman Oaks house where mother and daughter live. Grigorieva also receives $2,500 a month in child support from actor Timothy Dalton, the father of her 13-year-old son Alexander.

Child support in California is determined by a statutory child support formula. The formula takes into account each parent’s income, any child support paid or received for other children, any spousal support paid or received from other relationships, tax implications, health insurance costs and other factors.
