Jermaine Jackson Broke, Can’t Pay Child Support 0

About: Entertainers

Back in January of 2009, we wrote about Jermaine Jackson’s quest to get sole custody of his young sons with supervised visitation for their mother, Jackson’s ex, Alejandra Jackson. At that time, there were allegations of abuse against Alejandra, who previously had primary physical custody of the boys.

Jermaine also filed a motion to modify his spousal support obligation at about that time. He claimed that his income had dropped drastically and that he could no longer afford the previous support order.

The kids must have gone back to Alejandra because Jermaine has now filed a motion to modify his child support obligation, claiming that he is broke.

To recap Jermaine’s interesting marital history, he was married to his first wife Hazel from 1973 to 1987. They had three children. Jermaine had two more children with long-term girlfriend Margaret (including one child who was born before the divorce from Hazel and before his youngest child with Hazel).

After splitting with Margaret, Jermaine married Alejandra. Alejandra had two children from her previous relationship – with Jermaine’s brother Randy. (Go ahead. Re-read that sentence. We’ll wait.) Jermaine and Alejandra had two children, Jaafar and Jermajesty (for those keeping track – that means that the kids’ cousins are also their half-siblings).

In the newest court filings, Jermaine argues that he cannot pay the existing child support obligation of $3,000. He says his monthly income over the last year has been under $1,100. He is seeking a decrease in support to $215 a month.

Jermaine’s only real income in the last several years was an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK back in 2007. He made $450,000 for that appearance. He also appeared on VH1’s Gone Country in 2008. Since then, Jermaine claims his income has been negligible and that Alejandra out-earns him.

Alejandra also lives with family matriarch Katherine Jackson and other Jackson family members at the family compound in Encino, California.
