Star Jones and Al Reynolds Finalize Divorce

Television personality Star Jones and her estranged husband Al Reynolds have finalized their divorce, five months after filing.  We reported on the initial divorce filing back in April.  The couple was engaged in front of a full house at an NBA All-Star Game and married in a highly-publicized wedding in November 2004 while Jones was still a co-host on television’s The View.  Their divorce ultimately did not get as much media attention as those previous events.

The case was set to go trial yesterday but Jones and Reynolds reportedly reached a last minute settlement just before they were due in court.  Rumors suggested that Reynolds was trying to fight an “airtight” prenuptial agreement which left him with next to nothing but ultimately settled to avoid the costs of a trial.  The couple has no children so the only issues would have been financial in nature.

The court’s file has been sealed from public view.  Reynolds was represented by high profile New York divorce attorney Stanford Lotwin.  We couldn’t find any reliable information on the identity of Jones’ counsel.
