Slash Files for Divorce 2

Rock guitarist Slash (né Saul Hudson) has filed for divorce in Los Angeles from his wife of nine years, Perla Ferrar. The couple has two sons, London, 8 and Cash, 6. Slash is seeking joint physical and legal custody.

The couple was married in October 2001. Slash lists the date of separation as July 15, 2010.

According to the divorce documents, there is no prenuptial agreement and Slash is willing to pay spousal support. Slash’s glory days in Guns ‘N Roses pre-date the marriage. To the extent that he kept previously earned monies separate after their marriage, he may be able to claim a certain amount of his assets as non-marital property. If funds were commingled after the marriage however, a good portion of his G ‘N R earnings could be at risk.

Monies earned during the marriage in efforts like Velvet Revolver, his band with ex- G ‘N R bandmate Duff McKagan and Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland are community property – fair game in the divorce.

In March 2009, the rocker credited Ferrar and his family for helping him settle down, saying he got “rid of all the real hardcore stuff that I used to live on.”

According to sources though, the split is an ugly one. Slash’s representative said, “I can confirm the divorce papers were filed and from Slash’s perspective the split is amicable.” Which kind of suggests that, from Ferrar’s perspective, it might not be so amicable?

Slash is represented by divorce attorney to the stars, Laura Wasser.
