My husband and I have been living apart for the last 5 months. No legal seperation papers but lawyers were contacted and representing each. Recently we are starting reconciliation. I found out by accident he had sex with a friend of mine. 3 times. I am devistated since that is something I trusted him on if nothing else. I do not know whether to charge him with adultery and divorce him or what now. He is a dr who is throwing away his lucrative practice to sell books for a well publicized cult. Advice please?
[Note: This question is more relevant to North Carolina divorce laws article.]
@Cheryl, Since you live in a “fault” state, adultery will be relevant to your divorce case. You should consult with your attorney.
I don’t reside in the state of North Carolina but the woman that my husband is cheat with does.. Do I have any legal standing at all? I am currently residing in Pennslyvania. The woman is also married..
The married couple resides in Georgia however the mistress resides in North Carolina. He has gone to her house in NC to see her. They have also met in GA. Can the married wife sue the mistress for alienation of affection?
A friend of mine is currently seperated from his wife and is seeking a divorce. He was told by his soon, hopefully, to be ex-wife that they could not get a divorce now because they still owe on th home that she is living in with his 2 daughters. They were married in Germany while he was stationed there. She has expressed a desire to return to Germany. Can they still get a divorce and still owe on the home?
I HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FOR 4 YEARS BECAUSE MY HUSBAND HAD 2 AFFAIRS WHILE WE WERE TOGETHER AND ONE RESULTED IN A CHILD. I ASKED HIM TO LEAVE THE HOME AND HE DID . IN WHICH HE VERBALLY AGREED TO CONTINUE TO PAY THE BILLS HE WAS PAYING WHILE RESIDING IN THE HOME. I WAS OUT OF WORK FOR 2.5 YEARS DUE TO HEALTH REASONS IN WHICH I STILL MAINTAINED MY PORTION OF BILLS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. NOW BACK AT WORK FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND TRYING TO RECOVER AND MY HUSBAND CONTINUED TO PAY THE MORTGAGE AND CAR INSURANCE. WHILE I KEPT UP ALL THE HOME MAINTANENCE ,UPKEEP, HEALTH/LIFE INSURANCE . HE USED THE HOME TOWARD HIS TAXES. THE LOAN IS IN HIS NAME BUT DEED IS IN BOTH OF OUR NAMES. DUE TO A MALE VISITOR AT MY HOME (NO OVER NIGHT STAY) WHEN MY HUSBAND UNEXPECTANTLY CAME OVER HE IS NOW REFUSING TO PAY THE MORTGAGE . WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE AND I AM NOW SEEKING A LEGAL SEPARATION OR DIVORCE IN WHICH I WOULD LIKE ALIMONY BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP MY HOME AND HE MAKES 4XS AS MUCH AS I DO AND WAS ONLY ASKED TO LEAVE AFTER FATHERING A CHILD AND 2 AFFAIRS IN WHICH HE HAS ADMITTED TO. WHAT CAN I DO… PLEASE HELP… FUNDS ARE LIMITED BUT SURE I MAYBE ABLE TO SEEK FAMILY SUPPORT
A good friend recently found out her hubby has been having a long-standing emotional and sexual affair with another woman.
She recently had him served with a Ex Parte and immediately he moved down into SC to be with his lover. They have not even begun separation proceedings yet.
Is there any law that can be used to keep him away from this lover until they have at least begun separation? We aren’t expecting them to reconcile their marriage, but they have two small children who miss their daddy and she wants him to be able to think clearly about the decisions he is making about his future with his children, rather than to immediately continue to lead his “fantasy life” with his lover.
Also, she has found financial statements showing the thousands of dollars he has spent taking this lover on trips, cruises, vacations, buying her jewelry, etc. With him being sole support for the family, does she have any legal grounds to sue him over those monies spent on the affair?
I lived with ,y lover(lesbian) and put an ex-parte on me. Do I have to move back into the house. Will I have to pay bills. Can I leave I dont feel safe with her.
If you marry someone who already had a home and they decide they don’t want to be married any longer can they kick you out? Or if there was no prenup what is my rights?
I did not ask the question that was asked above. Someone obviously posted pretending to be me in order to find out an answer to a question I already have an answer to and to make it seem I am slandering a group.
