Tyrese’s Prenup Details Released 0

About: Entertainers

Model/actor/rapper Tyrese Gibson was apparently bright enough to sign a prenuptial agreement before his marriage to Norma Mitchell 10 months ago. Norma, as we noted last month, is contesting the validity of the agreement. If the prenup is valid and enforceable, Norma won’t be getting rich anytime soon.

According to the terms of the agreement, Norma waived her claim to any property that might otherwise have been characterized as marital or community property. She won’t get half of any of Tyrese’s assets. In this short term marriage though, it is important to point out that assets owned by Tyrese before the date of marriage wouldn’t be considered community property anyway.

According to TMZ.com, the prenup would instead give Norma a lump sum of $50,000 for every year the Gibsons were married, up to 10 years. These two didn’t even make it to a year – no word on whether that $50,000 could be adjusted pro rata for the 10 months they were married – i.e., a $41,667 payout to Norma.

The prenup also apparently says that if either side files for separation or divorce, Norma will move out within 60 days.

According to court documents just released, Tyrese made just shy of $1,000,000 last year. Norma had no income but stayed at home with the couple’s young child. Tyrese currently pays temporary child support of $6,230 a month plus Norma’s rent and car payment which total another $3,500 a month.

The case is set for trial in August.
